The programme aims to help students develop critical thinking and a strategic vision for the industries that balances business profitability and the market need for innovation and sustainability. The courses offer a strong business and innovative education for the students. In addition to business foundation courses, the programme also offers industry-focused courses taught by faculty members as well as industry senior executives, such as Real Estate Investments, Real Estate Valuation, Management of Lodging Facilities, Shopping Mall Investment and Management, Food & Beverage Management, Revenue Management, Facilities Development and Management.

Graduate Placement

Our graduates have the education, training, and flexibility to adapt their talents, knowledge, and skills to the demands of changing market conditions. In addition to business and management knowledge, students are exposed to the unique characteristics of various hospitality and tourism industries.

Career prospects of our graduates have been positive. Most of the graduates started working soon after they graduated from the University. Some of them have worked as Management Trainees in hotels or hospitality companies. These include, but not limited to, Swire Hotels, the Peninsula Hong Kong, Four Seasons Hotel, InterContinental Hotel Group, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Horwath HTL Asia Pacific, and Cathay Pacific Airways. Some students have accepted positions in China, such as the Fairmont Beijing, Horwath HTL Beijing and Shanghai, China Hotel by Marriott Guangzhou, and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in Shanghai, China. Students also accepted offers in the Walt Disney World at Orlando, Florida and St. Regis Hotel New York. Some students accepted job offers from leading business corporations in other service industries, such as CBRE, Mass Transit Railway (MTR), DHL, Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Jones Lang LaSalle, Sino Land, New World Development, Procter & Gamble, Unilever Hong Kong Ltd., Li & Fung, Maxim's Caterers Limited, Bloomberg, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, and UBS.

HRE Career Services

The HRE Career Services Office collaborates with our school’s industry partners in the hospitality and real estate industries to provide part-time work, internship placement as well graduate job opportunities for our students. We also organize a wide array of activities such as recruitment talks, networking day, career fair, alumni sharing as well as career workshops to help our students explore their career paths and develop their career skills.

Curriculum and Courses

The curriculum of the BBA in Hospitality and Real Estate emphasizes both theory and practice. It offers students an excellent opportunity to learn how to apply business theories to real-life situations in the hotel, tourism, real estate and other service industries. Our curriculum includes two streams – Hospitality and Real Estate.
