Sociology studies how social processes shape the modern world at levels of institutions, organisations, intergroup and interpersonal networks. Sociologists, through scientific methods, examine global and societal phenomenon: migration, crime, stratification, education, sexuality, civil societies and lately human consequences of climate change. Sociological research provides empirical foundations for public policies.

For applicants who have completed only the first year of IB Diploma studies with outstanding results, may be considered admission under special circumstances on individual merits case-by-case.
