The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is designed to prepare students for success in the commercial, non-profit and public sectors of the Canadian and global economy, while engaging in their communities.

Rather than giving you a highly theoretical “big business” degree, Mount Royal’s distinctive four-year program features experiential learning in the classroom and co-operative work experience opportunities. Once you graduate with a BBA, you’ll be prepared to hit the ground running and make your mark in the business world.

You will have the opportunity to specialize in one of four majors listed below. The General Management major allows you to focus in other fields of business as a minor. You may also use the General Management major to pursue minors in areas of study offered outside of the Bissett School of Business.

Human Resources are about managing the personnel of an organization. Students pursuing a concentration in Human Resources will develop an understanding of how to develop and implement recruitment programs, training plans and compensation and benefit packages. As well, students will learn to take the lead in effective employee relations programs and to apply changing government regulations to organizational planning.

Human Resources offer many career opportunities:

Human Resources Specialist - Create labour relation policies, create benefit and recruitment plans and analyze labour market trends.

Payroll and Benefits Manager - Develop benefit plans, create and conduct performance reviews and inspire a skilled team of professionals for your organization.

Recruiting - Build recruitment plans, network with a series of potential hires, write job descriptions and build a robust team of professionals for your organization.

You will be considered a high school applicant if you meet the following criteria: you are in your final year of high school, or you have left or completed high school, and you have completed fewer than eight post-secondary courses. English Language Score: Academic English (Level 3 Advanced) taken at Mount Royal Level 3 Advanced with B- (80%); TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) 86 (min. 20 in each of four sections); IELTS (International English Language Test [Academic]) 6.5 (min. 5.5 on each band); CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) 70 (min. 60 in each band); MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) 85 (min. 3 in oral component); PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) 58 (min. 55 in each area); CAE (Cambridge English: Assessment) C1 or C2 Certificate Awarded (Pass at Grade C with min. 180 overall) and CanTEST (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees) 4.5 overall minimum.
