A Bachelor of Arts encourages students to become informed and engaged thinkers and citizens. Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the world around you. You will build expertise in at least two areas of study, which will give you the ability to think laterally and collaboratively, and you will gain essential skills in communication, research, analysis, and problem-solving and become an expert in critical, creative, and strategic thinking. All disciplines in Deakin’s Bachelor of Arts are taught through a combination of theoretical and applied learning, with many areas of study offering work placements. You also have the option to study abroad for a trimester, undertake an international study tour, or complete an internship as part of your course, allowing you to gain a competitive edge in your chosen career path.

Demonstrate a broad and coherent body of knowledge in the Arts disciplines, with depth in the underlying principles and concepts in one or more disciplines or areas of practice.

Communication

Demonstrate highly developed skills in oral, written and electronic communication and the ability to communicate research outcomes, and produce scholarly papers.

Digital literacy

Research, analyse, synthesise and disseminate information using a range of appropriate technologies and resources in a rapidly-changing global environment.
