Do you see to it that iPads make it onto store shelves in time? Do you prevent hospitals having long waiting lists? Or are you in charge of visitor flows at an airport? Everything is possible!

Logistics is about organising and planning flows of goods, information and people in a time-effective manner and at lowest possible costs, taking into account sustainability issues. The Logistics Management programme focuses on economic and financial aspects of logistics.

In addition to acquiring specialist knowledge, during the programme you will develop all sorts of competencies which you will need later for being able to carry out your work well. You will do this by, amongst other things, working on a project basis on ‘real life assignments’ from the industry. Alongside projects, you will follow lectures, guest lectures and seminars, courses, training and coaching sessions. You will also undertake a number of work placements and participate in excursions and study trips. The entire study programme is very much practice-based.

Although the programme is in the Dutch language, it is possible that you can follow one or a number of subjects, minors or guest lectures in English. In addition part of the literature used may be in the English language. The total package is optimally linked to the demands of the profession and the possibility of continuing your studies further.

To be able to complete this four-year study programme in three years, in addition to your VWO diploma, you have to have a number of capacities. Namely, you have to be able to:

• plan your studies well;
• learn and work independently;
• take responsibility for your studies;
• really know want you want and
• enjoy working with others.

After your bachelor

Upon completion of this programme, you will be an expert in linking logistics processes, flows of goods and communication. You are likely to start in a junior or assistant position and can work your way up to a management position. You can start your career, for example as a logistics analyst, planner, ICT consultant, purchase manager, supply chain manager or project manager. Transport companies, production companies, multinationals and many other organisations are always on the lookout for logistics talents.

Graduates are equipped to fill a range of positions, such as purchase manager, logistics manager, supply chain manager, project manager or advisor at (inter)national:

• transport companies
• wholesale companies
• retailers
• manufacturers
• ICT companies
• multinationals
• commercial enterprises
• consultancy firms

Please be aware of the fact that many graduates start at the bottom of the career ladder - in assistant positions - and work their way up to management positions.
